This just in from the Mini Stock pits at the Town Fair Tire Finale at the Waterford Speedbowl. Mark Panaroni, who finished 11th in the 50-lap Mini Stock feature , refused to have his car inspected after the race and because of that erased a year's worth of effort at the track and a top-10 finish in the standings. The Waterford Speedbowl rulebook says a driver that refuses to have his car looked at by tech inspectors forfeits all his points for that season. Panaroni, of Ivoryton, was sixth in the Mini Stock standings after the race and would have dropped to seventh in the standings had his car been inspected and found illegal. "He admitted he had an illegal flywheel on his car and he refused to let us look at it," racing director Steve Harraka said. "He'd rather get the disqualification [for the season] than lose his flywheel so that's the way it goes." ...
