It took the combined star power of Russell Crowe, Leonardo DiCaprio and Vince Colosimo in Ridley Scott's terrorist-hunting actioner Body of Lies to end the three-week reign of Pixar's holiday-owning Wall-e , which took a hefty haul of $2.1m. Wall-e dropped to No.2 on a $1.2m take, only marginally ahead of his Disney stablemate Beverly Hills Chihuahua , which is clearly the pooch of the moment taking another clean mill at the box office and bringing its total to a not-to-be-pooped-on $5.3m. The self-produced Dane Cook adult comedy My Best Friend's Girl slid in at No.8 on a solid $600K across 123 screens, suggesting that Cook's huge appeal in the US might be starting to take hold here - though let's never forget Good Luck Chuck . The touching Israeli "can't-we-all-be-friends?" comedy Lemon Tree managed a berth at No.20 on $57K, its high per-site figure of $4397 across a mere 13 screens suggesting it might turn into a word-of-mouth arthouse favourite like Caramel , which sits at No.19 having taken a very respectable $560K across 18 screens, which is up one after four weeks. Like Cyd Charisse, the hit hitman comedy In Bruges is showing terrific legs, hanging on to No.16 and having taken $2.8m after six weeks in limited release.
