I have always thought it was good to take vitamins. First, I thought that because my mom gave them to us, and they were sugary and shaped like the Flintsones but tasted just a LITTLE bit gross so that meant they were probably good for you. Then, I thought that because it's what, like, everyone tells you to do. Then I thought that because I was vegetarian and probably you don't get enough B vitamins or something. And so on. The point is: I thought they were good for you until last year, when I kept getting sick and I asked my doctor if I should be taking vitamins, and she said, "No, you should be eating food with vitamins. Pill vitamins are worthless." I am paraphrasing, but it was something like that. So I have looked mockingly at the vitamin section of Boots (and other drug stores here). And then I started reading about two vitamins: Vitamin D and Zinc. And honestly it's not that easy to get enough of those vitamins in food, especially here where there's no sunlight so I can't get that much Vitamin D, and Zinc is mostly in oysters or something, and I don't eat those. I mean, there's zinc in other stuff, but that's beside the point. The point is this week I'm starting to take vitamins again. I think it will help. Anyway it can't hurt, right?
