So far, only few have made this combination a reality. To be a UMPC, it should weigh under 3 pounds, because anything above that is considered an ultraportable. A physical QWERTY keyboard is a must, or else it's just an MP3 player. An optical drive is optional, but technically there shouldn't be one because you're trying to maximize portability. Finally, and most important, is price. Many have failed to deliver a truly affordable UMPC. An OQO model 02 or an HTC Shift that costs over $1,500 should not be considered a UMPC.
