Just been reading this article on the BBC site (BBC NEWS | Technology | TorrentSpy ordered to pay $110m (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7389485.stm)) and a quote on it struck me as somewhat worrying: "TorrentSpy facilitated the illegal sharing of copyright files by hosting a collection of links to films and music." It says that this is why it has been shut down and ordered to pay £56m in damages. It's worrying because that's exactly what this site does. It offers links to media, which we have always felt doesn't break any law or copyright infringement as the site is not actually providing the content itself. Obviously we are not dealing with the MPAA so perhaps the chances of it happening here are slim - let's face it the MPAA have far to much power over law and governments that it's a disgrace - 15 years in prison for making a cam recording of a movie compared to 3 years for rape? yeah, because that's the law working at it's best. Would be intrigued to hear what people think about this new threat to our beloved site. ...
