Welcome back, Toadies — we missed ya. No Deliverance , the Fort Worth foursome’s third full-length album, coming seven years after 2001’s Hell Below/Stars Above , is a thrilling kick in the teeth that finds Vaden Todd Lewis and company back in their pummeling, melodic wheelhouse. It’s hard to find a weakling in the whole David Castell -produced bunch (love that fist-pumping title track). Unlike a lot of ’90s acts making the revival rounds these days, the Toadies sound like they never left. The disc, on Kirtland Records, hits stores Aug. 19, and the Toadies will play a CD release gig Aug. 23 at Dallas’ Palladium Ballroom. ...
