Almost 20 years ago Judas Priest were sued because it was thought that they were responsible for the suicide and suicide attempt of two men. A 20 year old shot himself and died and a 19 year old shot himself but lived through it. Their parents said that there was the subliminal message 'do it' in the song Better by You, Better than Me, which caused the men to shoot themselves. The suit was dismissed. Singer Rob Halford has commented that if they wanted to insert subliminal messages into their music, killing their fans would be counterproductive and they would rather insert the command "Buy more of our records." -A.C.
