The Justice Department was also part of an agreement announced Thursday with social networking site Facebook to warn children about predators and inappropriate content. Politics improperly influenced a hiring decision at the state Department of Workforce Development, a state hearing examiner concluded, and the resulting legal settlement cost taxpayers $346,000, the Associated Press reports .
