After the longest break between elections on ther primary calendar, voters in Pennsylvania go to the polls today to weigh in on the Democratic presidential nominee. (The Republicans are voting, too, of course). Hillary Rodham Clinton is expected to win, with Barack Obama aiming for a close finish.
Let's just hope they can resolve it on one ballot.
Closer to home, it took 45 -- yes, forty-five -- ballots (and seven hours!) to re-elect Lee Holloway as chairman of the Milwaukee County Board .
In other news, a Milwaukee County Circuit Judge is holding firm on a trial date for next month for former Milwaukee Ald. Michael McGee . And in Mequon, the Fire Department has used its unusual and newly-strengthened mandatory-retirement age to remove the most senior member of the department -- who two years ago was passed over for chief. ... |
