Following the departure of Sony worldwide game development studios head Phil Harrison, the company has named a successor to the job: Shuhei Yoshida.
As a senior vice president of Sony Computer Entertainment America, Yoshida was in charge of all game development in the U.S. Yoshida joined Sony's Japan branch in 1986 and was one of the founding members of the PlayStation project, making him a natural choice to succeed Harrison.
Although his name doesn't pop up a lot in the media, Yoshida is a well-known and well-liked Sony executive, both inside and outside the organization. It's clear that Sony's studios are in good hands.
