As usual, my wife has been nagging about going on vacation. It isn't enough that she has a full two months off, but she wants to go somewhere too. Personally, I wouldn't mind two weeks at home, with a case of Red on my balcony, but hey, I'm just the mere husband... Anyway, last year we had a bargain for South Portugal and had a vacation for nearly two weeks under 2000€. The main reason for this low-bugdet were: Ryanair, the fact that the apartment we rented was owned by a co-worker of my wife and that I cooked every day instead of going to the restaurant. I wouldn't have minded going back to South Portugal, but dear wifey wasn't as enthusiast and we brainstormed for vacation. Tuscany was one option. (Skipping a lot of alternatives, other options, how we could get there, etc, etc, etc...) Well, I booked Ryanair and it's dirt cheap. I preferred an apartment instead of a hotel because if I cook, it's cheaper. Luck was also with me, as I found something. Better said, I contacted the people here and someone cancelled their reservation just a few days ago! Yay! (Well, for me, not them...) We're still way under 2000€ for two weeks. I don't think we'll match South Portugal, but at least it won't be a hyper-expensive vacation. Oh, and I look forward to the wine... ;-) ...
