Scott Skiles will face a familiar foe when he makes his debut as Bucks coach on Oct. 28, against the Chicago Bulls. The Bucks and Bulls meet at the United Center to open the 2008-'09 season , and it somehow seems appropriate. Skiles will be going against the team that fired him on Christmas Eve of last season, and also on the Bucks bench will be assistant Jim Boylan, who served as interim coach of the Bulls after Skiles was fired. On the opposing side will be new Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro and assistant Del Harris, once the Bucks head coach and the father of former Bucks general manager Larry Harris. "That's what I thought," Bucks general manager John Hammond said of his guess about the team's opening-night foe. "I called up Scott, and we both had a chuckle." And that's not all. One night after opening in Chicago, the Bucks head to Oklahoma City to play the former Seattle SuperSonics franchise, in its inaugural regular-season game as an Oklahoma team. The Bucks will play their home opener on Saturday, Nov. 1 against the Toronto Raptors, part of a busy opening month that also includes home games against the Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs and defending NBA champion Boston Celtics. The Bucks' start on Oct. 28 is their earliest since the 1985-'86 season, when they played their season opener on Oct. 25. Last year Milwaukee opened at Orlando on Oct. 31.
