So here’s a story that’s got skelms, sharks, and students. It starts off with the students shooting sneak dirty videos for purveyors of internet porn. Not innocent fun but the sort of stuff the students don’t take seriously until it all goes horribly wrong. Mike Nicol thought that after such a dark story it’d be worth a chat to author Peter Church , if only to find out where the idea had come from. Well, he got an answer to that, and learned that Peter has a soft spot for women. Specifically he mentioned their leadership qualities, and Nicol didn’t pry further. A cautionary: it you haven’t read Dark Video ( Two Dogs ) yet then here’s some advice, don’t read it at night. Crime Beat: You’ve worked in IT all your life and the modern virtual world plays a major part in your novel, although at that intersection, in this case dangerous intersection, between the real and the virtual. Was it years of working in the grey zone that drew you to this murky border. Peter Church: I wish. Real life IT is a far cry from Dark Video. But I believe IT is due its 15 minutes of fame on the circuit. In much the same way as law and medicine, two exceedingly dull practices, have been glamorised, IT deserves its share of the limelight. ...
