Singapore Airlines has today (July 16th) launched additional services to London Heathrow Airport using the Airbus A380. Four additional weekly services between Singapore and Heathrow will be made available, giving a broader range of British travellers the opportunity to experience the world's largest passenger airliner. The extra flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and bring the airline's total number of flights between Singapore and London to 11 a week. Singapore Airlines is able to offer the additional services following the acquisition of its fifth A380 in June. Huang Cheng Eng, the carrier's executive vice-president for marketing and regions, said: "The A380 products have been very well received by our customers, and loads on the Singapore-London route have been exceptionally encouraging. "The deployment of another A380 on this route will cater to continual strong demand from customers travelling between Singapore and London." Singapore Airlines is currently the only operator using the Airbus A380 but will soon be joined by Australian airline Qantas. ...
