For some of us, Scarlett Johansson will forever be the apathetic blond girl from Ghost World . For others, she'll always be Bill Murray's costar in Lost in Translation . For others still, she was is that recent surprisingly-not-terrible Woody Allen film and its predictably mediocre follow-up. In between films, however, the husky-voiced actress is making a bid for indie rock legitimacy. But she's eschewing the insta-pop of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton for a debut record of Tom Waits covers, called Anywhere I Lay My Head .
For those who can't wait for the album's May 20th release on Atco/Rhino Records, social media site imeem is making it available today . Registered imeem users can listen to the entire record via Johansson's profile page. In typical social networking fashion, users can also read the actress's blog, look at pictures and videos, and embed audio and video widgets of her music on their pages. Just don't expect her to recognize you, should you ever run into her on the street.
