Russian President Dmitry Medvedev arrived on Sunday in Japan's northernmost Island of Hokkaido for a summit of the G8 group of industrialized nations. The annual summit of the Group of Eight leading industrialized nations - the U.S., the U.K., Italy, Canada, Russia, France, Germany and Japan will be held on July 7-9 to discuss the world economy, environmental concerns, African development and other pressing issues. As part of the G8 summit, Medvedev is to meet with U.S. President George W.
