Dedham native Brian Keaney said his aunt and uncle were on board to let the producers of “Edge of Darkness” set up lights on his uncle’s property on Bradfield Street. “My uncle said it was great until we found out that Mel Gibson was involved because he made those anti-Semitic comments to a cop a couple of years ago,” said Keaney, speaking on behalf of his aunt and uncle who wish to remain anonymous. “We’d rather not take his money and let him use our front porch.” When stopped in 2006 for a DUI arrest, Gibson told a cop, “Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.” Gibson also spewed profanity about Jews. He added the movie is to be partly shot in Roslindale in August. Gibson’s daughter in the movie is killed across from the Bradfield Street home being denied to the filmmakers. “They want to use lighting on my uncle’s front porch. They’re paying both tenants and landlords to use lawns and homes… There is not enough money [to let the film be shot if it’s involving Mel Gibson].” The movie is scheduled for release in 2009. ... |
