| Brendan Scott is the New York Post's new No. 2 guy in Albany. He joined the bureau headed by Fred Dicker this morning.
Scott formerly wrote for the Post's Sunday edition, including an analysis of the Senate GOP's battle for survival that was published this weekend. He previously covered the state Capitol for Ottaway, a chain of papers in the Northeast that includes the Times-Herald-Record of Middletown. Ottaway, like the Post, is now part of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.
Scott replaces Ken Lovett, who started last week as chief of the Capitol bureau for the Daily News.
