The 2012 Olympics will usher in major transformation for London’s landscape. Photographer Philip Jessup , a Toronto-based artist has captured the Lea/Lee watershed from Hackney Marsh to the Bow River, in a series of pictures documenting the cycles of industrialisation, decay and renewal. Design for the 2012 Aquatic Centre They include considered, austere images of reservoir systems, pumping stations, overhead power lines and so on. Not, you might think, fascinating fodder for all, but because they’re unpopulated and shot under cloudy, overcast light they’re curiously compelling.
