| A battle between feuding Palestinian Arab factions was raging in Gaza City Saturday, leaving at least some fighters dead or wounded, sources say. The violence between gunmen loyal to the ruling Hamas faction and a clan supporting rival Fatah flared after Hamas demanded that clan leaders hand over a group of militants suspected of responsibility for a Gaza City beach bombing last week, CNN reported. Sources told the broadcaster that the battle, being waged in the eastern part of the city with rocket-propelled grenades, rockets and rifles, has claimed at least some casualties. Hamas has arrested hundreds of Fatah supporters since last week's bombing at an intersection near the city's beachfront, which killed five Hamas activists and a young girl. ... |
