BOYS TENNIS ANDOVER 9, STONEY CREEK 0: There was not much doubt about this OAA crossover match played Tuesday in Rochester Hills. The visiting Barons swept all nine flights - the majority of them in straight sets. Bryan Hodges led the charge in singles, taking No. 1 flight in a 6-1, 6-2 romp over Jon Sharp of Stoney Creek. The lone singles match that went the maximum three sets was at No. 2 flight where Evan Chen defeated Rahul Pandley, 6-0, 3-6, 6-2. David Risov (No. 3) and Eric Hwu (No. 4) were Andover's other singles winners. The No. 1 Baron doubles team of Brandon Epstein and Drake Deitch, who played No. 4 doubles last season and advanced to the Division 3 state semifinals, won in straight sets over the Cougar duo of Sal Lipuma and James Shermetaro, 6-3, 6-2. Jason Law and Conner Osgood (No. 2), Terry Ahn and Charlie Frank (No. 3), Zack Weber and Jonna Yousif (No. 4) and Ray O'Hara and Kyle Jonna (No. 5) were Andover's other doubles winners. It was the opening match for Andover. SEAHOLM 5, U-D JESUIT 3: Seaholm's non-league victory Tuesday in Birmingham came courtesy of the doubles teams. The Maples swept the four doubles flights and captured a singles flight to topple Catholic League foe U-D. Each team has now played three matches, and it marked the first win for Seaholm and the first loss for U-D.
