Longtime voanage user here, just moved to new location using VONAGE with Astound Cable ISP dynamic address, Motorola SB5101 cable modem, working PAP2, Linsys BEFSR41v3 router, and Windows XP.
1. Two DHCP XP computers on router work fine without PAP2 on router, connection speed 750K/120K bytes/sec.
2. PAP2 works fine without computers on router.
When the PAP2 is plugged in, together, the PCs both immediately go into a loop of 'network cable unplugged, then acquiring DHCP address, network cable unplugged.........". The PAP2 will connect sometimes, but likely drop after a few minutes.
The PAP2 and PCs do not have an IP address conflict, and each computer fails separately.
After my own verification and diagnosis, I worked with Vonage support for an +hour and he had me network power cycle the devices many times, checked network properties, and router many times..... recabled and switched router ports, all to no avail.
Software on both PCs up-to-date with patches, as is router running Linksys 1.05.0 software.
I'd appreciate any suggestions from the user community!
