The Augusta Orioles scored 12 runs in the fourth inning of the first game of a Monday night doubleheader against the El Dorado Wildcats; and they were still behind. That was the type of night it was for the Orioles in losing both games of a doubleheader to El Dorado at McDonald Stadium. The Wildcats won the first game 20-12 in five innings, then completed a sweep with an 11-10 victory in eight innings in the nightcap. The Orioles (10-13) rallied from huge deficits to get themselves back into both games against a team that had manhandled them in Augusta the week before. The Orioles were shut out 16-0 in the first three innings of the opener, but had their first 14 batters reach base during their fourth inning comeback. Seth Smith got two hits — a single and double — and three RBIs in the frame, while Dereck Chilcott also had three RBIs with a two-run single and a RBI fielders choice. Brandon Alber hit a bases-loaded double, Cody Patten a two-run double and Brad Lakey hit a RBI double in the inning. El Dorado scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to close out the game. Christian Ingalls was the losing pitcher for Augusta. The second game saw the Wildcats take a 7-1 lead after four innings, with the only Augusta score coming from courtesy runner Cody McHone, who scored from third base on a passed ball.
