(Telecompaper) Orange has announced the availability of the HTC Touch Diamond in its Signature devices range. Orange has selected the Diamond as the first platform for its multimedia services, using the phone's 3D-graphics engine and mobile internet capabilities to deliver enhanced applications and services, including Orange Photo, Orange Music, Orange TV and Orange Downloads. Orange has developed enhanced versions of its Signature applications for the Diamond and has worked closely with HTC to integrate them into the phone's operating system. The HTC Diamond from Orange will be available in the UK from July and will be rolled out across France, Spain, Poland, Romania, Switzerland and Belgium in this year. HTC said the device will be available across all major European carriers in June and later this quarter in Asia and the Middle East. The North American and Latin American versions of the Touch Diamond will be available in the second half of 2008. The Windows Mobile 6.1 handset runs on 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and HSUPA networks as well as Wi-Fi and features a 2.8-inch VGA touch screen, 3.2 megapixel camera with video calling, 4 GB internal storage and GPS. The handset also includes a HTC-developed YouTube application for watching a variety of user-generated video content as well as utilizing Google Maps for mobile for mapping and traffic data. ...
