I have to go with the full lineup not just a starting six. Forwards— First line: Ron Francis, Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr. I don't think there can really be any argument with this. All three players are on the list of best NHL’ers ever. I miss watching Jagr and Lemieux playing together; it truly was something special. Actually, seeing Jagr not in Penguins uniform was something tragic in itself. Second line: Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby, Marian Hossa. This is simply personal opinion, but posts such as should simply include the best players ever to wear Penguins uniform. I think with that criteria there is no doubt that this is the second line. Marian Hossa, as much as I hate him, is an incredible hockey player and before he came to Pittsburgh and while he was a Penguin, was one of the elite players in the league who received a lot of respect. The other two have already proved their worth in two and three seasons respectively. They are two of the best in the NHL right now and will only get better. Third line: Martin Straka, Robert Lang, Alexei Kovalev. This line was short-lived but for the time it was together, in the words of Phil Rizzuto— HOLY COW! Fourth Line: Kevin Stevens, Bryan Trottier, Joe Mullan. I think, again, these three players were all great players who happened to wear Penguins uniform. Defensive Pairings: Sergei Gonchar, Paul Coffey. Two of the best to ever play in the NHL— period. Larry Murphy, Ulf Samuelsson. Two ve ...
