"Yes we can" - Barack Obama slogan "Yes she can" - adaptation of Obama slogan used by Hillary Clinton supporters during her victory speech last night in Pennsylvania There's nothing wrong with borrowing or even mocking an opponent's slogan. It is politics after all. It's not as nice when the candidate does it, but the actual supporters, well, it's a free country. But it did get me thinking about one vs. many. Clinton supporters talk about the aura of Obama. Clinton spoke of a speech. They focus on "well, Obama is a symbol, he personifies what people are feeling. There isn't much there there." But in watching Hillary speak last night and then Barack speak, I think the parallel is the complete opposite: Clinton is the personification and Barack is the one who steps back.
