The Allegany County Nitros knew they were in for a longer night than usual, but they probably did not envision playing more than two full games worth of baseball. After finishing off an 11-6 victory, the Nitros and Geneva Red Wings played 18 more innings, with Geneva getting an 8-7 victory in the five-hour marathon. On June 17, the lights at McDonough Park had gone out in the eighth inning of the Nitros-Red Wings game in Geneva with Allegany County leading 11-6. So the teams got together a little earlier on Wednesday to complete the suspended game before the regularly-scheduled contest. In the make-up, Damon Arnold doubled and drove in three runs, while Ryan Holley went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI and Matt Kempin had two hits and two RBI. Alex Raetzloff had two hits and two runs scored for the Nitros and Thomas Tolliver had a hit and two runs scored. Eddy Mendiola and Matt Perry both had three hits in the loss for Geneva, while Ryan Uphouse went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and John Sills drove in two. Perry then served as the hero in the second game, singling home Jimmy Vahalik in the bottom of the 18th, his third RBI of the game.
