In Lebanon, Prime Minister Fouad Siniora's pro-Western party and the opposing, Syrian-backed Hizbollah have agreed to form a government of national unity. For the past 18 months, the country has struggled through a political crisis that began when Hizbollah stepped out of the government. Then, at the beginning of May this year, heavy fighting broke out between supporters of both sides. At least 65 people died and 200 were wounded.
