| An arrest warrant has been issued for a woman authorities say allowed 31 rabbits and horse to starve to death on a southern New Jersey farm. The New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says Deborah Bailey skipped a July 28 municipal court hearing. As a result, a warrant was issued. The SPCA says the dead rabbits were found stacked in cages in a locked shed and hutch behind a barn at the East Greenwich Township farm she was renting. There was also a dead horse. The Logan Township woman faces 39 charges of animal cruelty, and could get up to $39,000 in fines and a possible jail sentence if convicted. The SPCA found three horses, four ponies, five goats and a cat still living on the farm. The farm owner is allowing the SPCA to keep the animals on the farm for now. ... |
