(Telecompaper) Venezuelan operator Movilnet is carrying out GSM tests and has activated 600 radio base stations leveraging this technology. Currently, the company is testing 300 mobile units divided among the company's staff, of which 100 are postpaid and the rest are prepaid. Movilnet plans to offer GSM services once the company is satisfied with the quality level, which has to equal that currently provided via CDMA, Jacqueline Faria Pineda, Movilnet president said.
