Ft. Myers, FL-based Slingpage raised $2.2M in an angel round earlier this year, the startup now says Slingpage is a social browsing application that allows users to share Web content and to view the same page simultaneously. It also provides chat functionality. It takes some thinking to understand use cases. But we imagine the first one might be a worker who send his co-worker a Slingpage invite to look at a competitor's Web page update together. Generally, you would expect that a link would suffice but Slingpage ads a step more of collaboration. We can also imagine friends looking at Facebook pages together. The company's VP of marketing suggests other ideas: "It’s a great way for people shopping online for cloths, travel, flights, to share Web pages back and forth,” for instance, he notes. It can also be used to comment on staff blog entries—or a competitor’s." None of this seems terribly compelling but Slingpage plans to be free and perhaps some uses that we can't think of will evolve. Slingpage was founded by CEO Peter Weinberg was VP, Corporate Development & Investor Relations at MIVA and his co-founder and CTO was also with MIVA. View - site... ...
