| " Like, such as, SOS Florida!" Many of us on the verdant peninsula are aware of Miss Teen South Carolina's discombobulated geography answer during a recent pageant competition. What many many us may not know is that she has graciously offered to distribute maps to the children of the newly established State of South Florida (aka SOS Florida.) You see, the several southeastern formerly Florida counties of SOS Florida, in their haste to leave the remaining counties of the mother state, failed to realize that their property insurance and government-run school system were in some measure, subsidized by the rest of us in the interior and to the north. Upon secession from Florida, SOS Florida had to assume these costs for themselves and in order to pay for this, had to cut all funding for their K-12 geography programs. In a selfless act of kindness toward another state that starts with the word "South" however, Miss Teen South Carolina made sure that life wasn't nasty, brutish and short in the newest political subdivision of the United States of America. She accomplished this by distributing maps to the poor underprivileged children of North Ft.
