A Tunisian newspaper has reported that 47 illegal immigrants died of starvation and cold after the engine of their boat had failed during the crossing from Libya to Italy. Sixteen others survived and were picked up by the Tunisian coast guard. The survivors said they dumped the 47 bodies overboard to prevent the rickety boat from sinking. Almost 20,000 illegal immigrants arrived in Italy by boat last year. ...
