In the debate over whether the Michigan Republican Party has a (or had a) secret plan to use foreclosure lists to prevent poorer folks from voting, it's worth noting that the website which published the story is being advised by a Democratic consulting firm. One doesn't have to begrudge the website for hiring a PR firm, but if they intend to assert their independence from a party, clique or ideology, affiliating with prominent Democrats like the former majority leader of the Michigan House doesn't help much. On the other hand, I wouldn't be so quick to dimiss the Michigan Messenger as just another blog. The consortium that owns it has put together several fairly good (liberal) news and reporting websites, including this one. ...
