This year's festival will be held on July 26-27, 2008 at the Malibu Civic Center in Malibu, CA. Each year the festival hosts an enthusiastic 12,000 people and nearly 250 booths and vendors. This year, the festival is opening its doors to songwriters from all around the country. The Malibu Music Awards is now accepting submissions from Sonicbids songwriters in 11 different categories. There are a number of cash prizes which will be provided to the top 3 winners in each category, and one grand prize winner will receive a performance slot at the festival, airfare to Los Angeles, free stay in a 5-star Hotel (Malibu Beach Inn), plus a recording session with Gold & Platinum producing artist Carl Graves, formerly of Oingo Boingo.
