Hi Everyone, A bit of background: I drive a MY08 FG2 w/ OEM Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 A/S tires. I have about 7,800 miles on the odo (purchased last year december) and I have not rotated my tires. I did the penny trick and old abe tells me that my front tires are @ approximately 2/32" and my rears @ 5/32" of tread. Now I admit that I drive pretty aggressively and I don't blame the tires... entirely. I find that either the tires or the brakes or both are inadequate. The tires have little to no grip and the brakes just don't catch strong enough. Furthermore, the 61/39 weight distribution demands more from the front two tires. As a result, I find myself having to ease in the brakes quite early on corner entry, followed by a modest acceleration (due to lack of grip) on corner exit. Needless to say, I should probably just take it easy on the road but when I do drive "spiritedly" I find my FG2 is highly frustrating as I can not brake, gas, or turn in as I please. So my question is, for those who drive like me and have replaced their tires to a sticky summer solution, was braking dramatically improved? Or, do you think brakes (at least the pads) and tires should be replaced? Furthermore, those of your who have purchased and installed a progress rear sway, does corner entry angle improve dramatically? Thanks in advance for reading. ...
