LAS VEGAS, NV (BRAIN)�Venetian and Palazzo resorts' owner is planning a new convention center that could open by 2010. Las Vegas Sands Corp. said it had filed plans with Clark County to build a 1.2 million square-foot facility. It could cost about $680 million and offer as many as 7,000 hotel rooms. Interbike's industry consultant Lance Camisasca wasn't privy to this latest development, but said that Las Vegas Sands Corp. had been "considering to build a new convention center." Interbike will decide in the coming months where the industry will gather for its annual event starting in 2010. Along with Las Vegas, Interbike's home for the past 10 years, Denver and Anaheim are on the table. Camisasca said the possibility of a new Las Vegas convention center by 2010 won't play into Interbike's decision to pick the next venue. "Whatever happens will have no effect on whether or not we stay in Vegas, unless we learn something unexpected in the coming months," Camisasca said. �Jason Norman ...
