The Grand Valley State softball team had a successful season on the field in 2008, finishing 27-16 and 12-8 in the GLIAC. However, the Lakers were even more proficient off the field and in the classroom, as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association honored the team on Monday (Sept. 29) with the second-best grade-point average in NCAA Division II.
