Lake Eden Arts Festival 2008 Deadline: Aug 12, 2008 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time October 17-19, 2008 The Lake Eden Arts Festival (LEAF) takes place over 3 days bi-annually in the scenic hills below Mt. Mitchell at Camp Rockmont in Black Mountain, NC. This unique mountain and lake setting is a treat for performers and festival-goers alike with six stages spread out over the 600 acre property. So far the festival has hosted more than 250 performers representing over 40 different genres. There are 5 slots reserved for Sonicbids artists. Selected artists will be compensated for their performances at a rate to be negotiated prior to booking. LEAF is a non-profit organization established to enhance people's lives through creative expressions, the arts, dance and music from a variety of cultures. They seek to cultivate a deeper understanding and appreciation of cultural traditions and the arts in Western North Carolina and beyond. The LEAF lineup is a combination of many different genres - all rooted in a particular cultural tradition. Serving up something for everyone, some of the genres we accept include Latin, African, Celtic, Middle Eastern, Asian, American "roots" music (including folk, blues, bluegrass, and Cajun), and a world of cultures in between.
