The Galaxy is atop the Western Conference, albeit with a mediocre 4-3-2 record. David Beckham is as much substance as style. Landon Donovan is an early MVP candidate. No team has scored more goals. And a no-name group of young players has nicely complemented the big-ticket stars. But if you assume AEG executive Tim Leiweke is content, think again. From what I am hearing from my West Coast contacts, Leiweke met with the players during a tense meeting at Home Depot Center recently and had a separate discussion with Prez/GM Alexi Lalas and Coach Ruud Gullit. The message: The Galaxy needs to become MLS's super club this season and win MLS Cup at home at HDC in November. Anything less will be unacceptable and no one should feel secure in their jobs, especially the redhead and the Dutchman. Leiweke also told Lalas and Gullit that they will have the flexibility ...
