Russia's OAO Gazprom yesterday appointed former prime minister Viktor Zubkov as chairman of the state-run gas monopoly after the previous incumbent, Dmitry Medvedev, became the country's president. The appointment of 66-year-old Mr. Zubkov, a first deputy prime minister and a long-time ally of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, was widely expected. Mr. Zubkov is to retain his government post while serving as Gazprom chairman. GAZP (Moscow) fell 2.40 rubles to 337.61 rubles ($14.57). ...
