Governor-General Michaelle Jean has promised to speak to French President Nicolas Sarkozy about the importance of Canadian francophones who live outside Quebec.Ms. Jean arrived in Paris yesterday to kick off a five-day trip that will include meeting with Mr. Sarkozy, attending ceremonies in Normandy marking the 63rd anniversary of VE Day, and visiting Canadian war graves in Beny-Reviers. The trip is intended in part to underline the significance of this year's 400th anniversary of the founding of Quebec City.
