Mayor Larry Morrissey has revoked the liquor license for JT’s Bourbon Street Grille, and police say they’ve made an arrest in connection with a shooting there last week. Morrissey, who serves as the city’s liquor commissioner, issued a one-week suspension of the license July 1 after five people were shot in an adjacent parking lot. He extended it for an additional two days Tuesday. It was the second parking-lot shooting in the past six months for the establishment. Police believe that the shooting was the result of a dispute that started inside the bar when people standing in line to get pictures taken argued about others cutting in line. The people fighting were told to leave the bar, police said, and the fight continued outside. All of the victims suffered nonlife-threatening injuries. Police today arrested Dayon W. Poke, 29, on a charge of felony mob action for the shooting. The charge refers to an action when two or more people gather to disturb the peace. Deputy Chief Greg Lindmark said they have felony mob action warrants out for four other men: Delregan Steveson, 26; Gregory Watson, 21, who was also a shooting victim; Brendon Turner, 25; and Devonte Gordon, 23. More arrests could be forthcoming, Lindmark said. Staff writer Sean F. Driscoll can be reached at 815-987-1410 or sdriscoll@rrstar.com . ...
