It's a long way from Baghdad to Jellico. But Army Sgt. David K. Cooper's death brings the Iraq war home to those who live at the foot of Jellico Mountain, across the Tennessee line from where he grew up in Williamsburg. Cooper will be buried with full honors Sunday at Jellico's Bowlin Cemetery. He is his hometown's first Iraq war casualty. "It was always on the TV, and now it's here, up close and personal. It's a sad day," said Williamsburg Mayor Roddy Harrison, who taught and coached Cooper in high school.
