Iran's national soccer team has defeated Syria 2-0, marking its second consecutive victory in the South Africa 2010 World Cup qualifier. The victory, at Damascus' al-Abbasiya stadium, saw Ali Daei's men securing their qualification with 9 points. In the other match in Group 5, last-placed Kuwait conceded a 2-3 defeat to UAE.
