The objective of this paper is to document the impact of utilizing different aspects of Advanced Power Virtualization (AVP) in multi-tier application based on Java, C++ and an Oracle database. The results provided are based on a customer specific application benchmark executed on an IBM system p5 p570. The data provided addresses the performance impact of AVP features like Simultaneous Multi Threading and Micro Partitioning.
