So today on my Windows XP test rig I installed HostsMan and DL'd all four hosts files, which yielded a non-duplicated file of over 65,000 entries. I am seeing widely varying results among IE, Firefox, and Opera. As far as pages barely loading at all, it seems to be most prevalent with Opera, although I have seen one or two with Firefox as well. IE is performing the best. Does anyone have a clue as to why this might be the case? Don't all three browsers access the Hosts file before sending a query to the DNS servers? Speaking of DNS, I just switched my router setting to OpenDNS so I am curious to hear if that could be a factor. Thanks. -- Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway. ...
