The Metal Gear Solid storyline (despite its arguable brilliance) has got to be one of the most convoluted, complex and eccentric experience we've ever had - our brain just hurts to comprehend sometimes. David Hayter, American voice actor of Solid Snake, apparently shares our thoughts as he critiqued Kojima's masterpiece during the guest-of-honor panel at the Anime Expo. 'It was just humiliating,' Hayter said when he described the first MGS's alternate ending where Otacon and Snake were about to ride-off in a snowmobile. 'It's a delicate thing to discuss love blooming on the battlefield with Otacon,' said Hayter about the Otacon/Snake moment. 'It felt like it was written to be romantic,' said Hayter. But despite of the criticism, Hayter gives Kojima a lot of credit for influencing his scriptwriting. 'Kojima and I have different styles...but I've certainly learned things from him, especially about ambiguity and telling a story without giving all the answer,' said Hayter. He also mentions a certain keyplot from MGS4 but since the game's only a month old, we'll let you decide if you want to read about it or not for those of you who haven't finished the game yet (WHY?!). Hit the source for the full info. 1UP: Anime Expo: David Hayter Critical of Some MGS Moments ...
