Have you ever tried paying attention to how your professors look like over the years? They all started out as young students with beautiful black/blonde/brown hairs. As they went through winters after winters of research debacles, their hairs slowly turned grey. And eventually, one by one, their hairs fell off from their heads to give rise to the baldness that signified their tenures.
