Google introduced a new security app designed to offer Web security for business of all sizes. The company's new Web Security for Enterprises offers real-time malware (including virus and spyware) protection, Web site filtering, and remote protection.
The new app is powered by Postini and features technology from ScanSafe. It can be accessed from the Google Apps and messaging consoles. Companies can use it to protect off-network users working remotely, who won't have to sign into the corporate network.
"One of the benefits of Google Apps is the protection it provides for communication and collaboration within businesses," said the company's director of product management, Scott Petry. "Now companies can extend that protection to more of their users' Internet activities, whether they're surfing the web at the office or the airport."
